Living Available

Dr. Ron Hamilton

What if our entire lives were meant to be lived on-call for heaven's purposes? This powerful message challenges us to shift from living centered around our schedules, goals, and comfort zones to embracing what it means to be about our Father's business. Drawing from Luke 2:49 where the young Jesus declared He must be about His Father's business, we're invited into a radically different mindset—one where interruptions become divine assignments and every moment holds kingdom potential. The Father's business isn't about religious activity or checking off spiritual tasks; it's about seeking and saving the lost, healing and restoring broken lives, revealing God as Father, raising up sons and daughters, and loving people relentlessly. What makes this calling sustainable isn't our effort or strength, but our abiding connection with the Father. Like Jesus who only did what He saw the Father doing, we're called to live from a place of intimacy rather than striving. The beautiful truth woven throughout is that this kingdom work flows from grace, not legalism—it's His kindness that leads people to repentance, His love streaming through us that brings transformation. As we learn to live interruptible and available, we discover that the harvest field is growing whiter and divine appointments surround us daily, whether with strangers, coworkers, family members, or that person in the checkout line. This is our identity as sons and daughters: carriers of the Father's heart to a world desperately searching for authentic love and freedom.
