Identity, Entangelment & Recovery

This message takes us on a profound journey into discovering our true identity in Christ through the power of hearing God's voice. At the heart of this teaching lies a beautiful truth: God has called each of us by name, just as He called Mary at the tomb, Gideon in his hiding place, and Zacchaeus in his tree. When Mary stayed at the empty tomb while others ran away, she faced her fear and pain, and in that vulnerable moment, Jesus spoke her name. Everything changed. This pattern reveals something critical about how we discover who we really are—not by running from difficulty, but by pursuing God in the midst of it. The message contrasts two postures: our false identity, which is full of fear, self-preservation, and isolation, versus our true identity, which is honest, confesses, confronts fear, and remains with God. We see this beautifully illustrated in Gideon's story, where God called him a 'valiant warrior' while he was hiding in fear, beating wheat in a wine cellar. God speaks to who we are, not who we appear to be. The transformative power comes when we hear His voice calling us by our true name, revealing our actual identity and purpose. This isn't just ancient history—it's an invitation for each of us today to come honestly before God, confess our fears, and listen for Him to speak our true name and calling into our lives.
