An Anceint Rhythm
This powerful message invites us into the ancient rhythm God established from the Garden of Eden through the tabernacle, to Jesus's time alone with the Father. At its heart is a challenging truth: our greatest worship and deepest prayers often emerge in the middle of our trials, not after them. Like seeds pressing against the earth to reach the surface, we face pressure that demands perseverance. The message draws from 2 Thessalonians, reminding us that our faith grows abundantly through persecutions and afflictions, making us worthy of God's kingdom. We're challenged to exercise spiritual maturity through constraint—holding ourselves in check by applying faith to our flesh. The rhythm includes worship, prayer, and immersing ourselves in God's Word, which Jeremiah describes as a consuming fire and a hammer that breaks stubborn rocks. Most compelling is the concept of 'covenant before the sword'—David knew God intimately before facing Goliath, before becoming king, even before his failures. This covenant relationship granted him access to God's sure mercy. We're asked to examine our own rhythms: When do we pray? When do we read Scripture? When do we journal what God speaks to us? The intimacy David expressed in Psalm 18—'I want to hug you, my strength'—reveals the depth of relationship available to us before any battle begins.
